About Patrick

pplDr. Patrick Phu Le is a chemist, small businessman and advocate for the disadvantaged.

Patrick put his roots down in District 7 by starting the Tully Medical Clinic and the Tully Clinic Pharmacy in San Jose over 20 years ago. He has gotten to know hundreds of San Jose families through his work there, listening to the patients’ concerns about the economy, health care and their community

Inspired by those conversations, Patrick decided he wanted to do more to help San Jose neighborhoods. He served on the Resources for Families Commission of Santa Clara County which helped provide assistance to low income families. He also founded the non-profit organization, Vietnamese American Community Services (VACS), to work with families who recently moved to San Jose and help them integrate into their communities.

In addition to running the Tully Medical Clinic and its pharmacy, Patrick is currently serving on the Santa Clara County Health Advisory Commission. This Commission works with the San Jose City Council to address health care issues ranging from food safety, to vaccinations and potential pandemics, including H1N1, to child and adolescent health.

Patrick is also a former member of the Board of Directors for California Security Bank, a community bank serving the East San Jose community and he is the past President of SOS Boat People (San Jose chapter).

Patrick knows the value of hard work, raising his three children while pursing multiple degrees. He has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Saigon University, a Master of Science in Chemistry and a Doctorate degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, San Diego.

famPatrick’s wife, An Pham, is a medical doctor and has been serving patients along with other physicians in the Tully Medical Clinic for over twenty years. They live in the Tully-Lucretia neighborhood.
